Slacktivism
Sitting behind a computer screen and liking, retweeting, and sharing is not enough. We should actually do something about the issues we care about instead of "pretending" we did. Yes, sharing something can raise awareness about a certain topic. But what is that awareness doing? I personally see things shared all the time but I do not believe they have affected me in the slightest. I am now aware of an issue but what is that awareness doing? Nothing.
We should all physically go out and help our communities. This is much more meaningful and beneficial in the long run.
Overall, I hope we as a society can learn that just simply sharing a post is not actually benefiting anyone directly. While it may raise awareness about an issue, it is not actually helping.
Check out some memes I thought portrayed slacktivism well :)
